The Voice of The Argus (July 2), on the two remaining development schemes for Black Rock claimed "the council is safe in the knowledge that either (scheme) would benefit the seafront".
It is true the regeneration west of the Palace Pier has been at the expense of the neglected, almost derelict area from the pier to Black Rock but I would question whether anything is better than nothing.
One hopes those who will dispose of this matter will take a balanced view of what is meant by "the community" and not be overly influenced by special interest groups.
A decision to proceed with a construction involving two ice rinks would not be a balance as ice skating remains a minority interest.
