Controversial funnyman Mark Little took the stage to rapturous applause as he handed out certificates at a graduation ceremony.
More than 400 students from Northbrook College, in Worthing laughed and applauded as he proved he was back on form, cracking gags and teasing college staff.
As he began addressing the audience at the Assembly Room in Stoke Abbott Road, Worthing, he joked: "I see your principal is called Dr Thrower. Where I went to college, he would have been called Mr Chucker."
He was handed a plaque by the students and his wife, Cathy, was given a bunch of flowers.
Some 420 students graduated from Northbrook with honours degrees and Higher National Diplomas.
Mr Little - who made his name as dopey gardener Joe Mangel in the Australian soap opera Neighbours - was dropped by comedy club Komedia in Brighton four weeks ago after losing his temper with hecklers.
