A woman was punched in the face when she became the latest victim of bag snatchers today.
The victim, who has not been named, was taken to hospital with facial injuries but was not believed to be seriously hurt.
She was attacked by a man as she walked in Tisbury Road, Hove, at 7.43am.
The woman called police who searched the area and arrested a man in a nearby street.
Police are appealing for witnesses to a separate bag snatch on Friday.
A woman was sitting in her car at the junction of Wilbury Avenue and The Drive, Hove, when a man reached in through an open window and grabbed her bag from the passenger seat.
He drove off in a stolen blue C-registered Vauxhall Astra.
The incidents are the latest in a string of up to 30 snatches from women in or near their cars in the past month.
PC Justin Burtenshaw said: "We want women to be aware of what is happening and ask them not to leave their handbags on the seat next to them.
"Either lock it in the boot while they are driving or keep it out of sight under a seat."
Anyone with information should call Mr Burtenshaw at Hove police station on 0845 6070999.
