A brother and sister scooped the honours in the annual Worthing sea swim.
Nathan Hart won the men's race while Melanie Hart claimed the ladies' event, organised by Worthing Swimming Club.
Mayor of Worthing Councillor James Doyle and his wife Mel were on hand to start the race at the stroke of high tide, 12.45pm, on Sunday by the beach office.
The ladies' course finished at the old coastguard house, a distance of a quarter of a mile, while the men finished just beyond the Beach Hotel, a distance of half a mile.
The good weather drew many spectators to the beach and promenade.
The Worthing safety boat was offshore to monitor the swimmers and the club would like to thank lifeguards for their assistance.
Club spokesman Robert Drage said: "We would like to thank all who took part and helped on the day and would like to offer our congratulations to the winners and look forward to seeing them defend their trophies next year."
