As a parent, I am writing in regards to your article "Dressing Up Is Just Dandy" (The Argus, July 16).
I have pictures of my daughter, similar to the ones in your article, on her way to her prom which was meant to be a celebration of her last night with friends she has made during her five years at Cardinal Newman School, Hove.
As your article stated, a lot of time and preparation was spent on getting everything perfect for her special night.
Unfortunately towards the end of the evening her bag was stolen and everything of value taken.
Her lasting memory of her prom, with people she has grown up with, is of her bag and purse (emptied of course) and photos of her little brother being found dumped in a sanitary bin in the toilets.
Other bags were taken that night and I find it a real shame that certain individuals took it upon themselves to ruin a night that was supposed to be so special.
