Cuckmere Valley League: Alfriston are the new league leaders but just four points separate the top seven teams in the division.
With three of those seven sides holding a game in hand, the destiny of the title is impossible to predict.
With leaders Blackboys not in action, reigning champions Alfriston took over top spot with a seven-wicket win over Withyham, who are one of only two teams in the division not challenging for the championship.
Simon Harmer took 3-13 as Withyham were dismissed for 94, then Dick Sorrell (33 not out) and Matthew Harmer (32) guided the hosts to a comfortable win. Phil Adams (30 and 2-15) did well for the visitors.
Bells Yew Green and Selmeston are on level points with Alfriston and Blackboys at the top.
Dominic Bowen hit 61 and Dave Tapp 40 as Bells Yew Green made 180-9 away to Firle. Robin Piper struck 31 in reply but the hosts were bowled out for 156.
Selmeston lost at home to Denton after being dismissed for 123 with Martin Foard claiming 7-18. Earlier, Denton had posted 184-5 with Richard Atkins scoring 51 and Rob Coggins 34 not out.
Simon Purkiss led the way with an unbeaten 21 as East Dean overhauled Burwash Weald's 62 all out to win by eight wickets.
Division two: Laughton 151 (Jon Porter 52, Alan Poulter 4-32) lost to Nutley 164-7 (Alan Poulter 52); Caburn 229-4 (Paul Fleming 133, Ian Dougal 40) beat Firle II 173-8 (Alistair Climpson 115); Bells Yew Green II 220 (N. Cleave 74, I. Holford 71, T. Collier 4-20) beat Withyham II 134 (Holford 4-26); Preston Village 108 lost to Isfield 135.
