Cuckmere Valley League: Alfriston are the new league leaders but just four points separate the top seven teams in the division.

With three of those seven sides holding a game in hand, the destiny of the title is impossible to predict.

With leaders Blackboys not in action, reigning champions Alfriston took over top spot with a seven-wicket win over Withyham, who are one of only two teams in the division not challenging for the championship.

Simon Harmer took 3-13 as Withyham were dismissed for 94, then Dick Sorrell (33 not out) and Matthew Harmer (32) guided the hosts to a comfortable win. Phil Adams (30 and 2-15) did well for the visitors.

Bells Yew Green and Selmeston are on level points with Alfriston and Blackboys at the top.

Dominic Bowen hit 61 and Dave Tapp 40 as Bells Yew Green made 180-9 away to Firle. Robin Piper struck 31 in reply but the hosts were bowled out for 156.
