Albion are set to give triallist Gaetano Giallianza his debut in the friendly at Woking tomorrow.
The Swiss striker has been out of football since Norwich declined to offer him a new contract last year after he had recovered from a knee ligament injury.
Giallianza completed his first day's training with the Seagulls yesterday.
Seagulls manager Steve Coppell said: "He didn't know anyone's name and they didn't know his. It is too early for any judgment.
"Gaetano is on trial for a week to begin with and I'd like to take a look at him against Woking.
"At one stage he was a £2m player."
Giallianza, 28, has played for Lugano, Basle, Sion, Young Boys Berne, Sevette and Nantes.
Albion captain Danny Cullip, who missed the friendly at Crawley on Saturday with a foot problem, is still an injury concern.
Coppell said: "Danny has damaged a kicking muscle but should be okay for the start of the season."
Midfielder John Piercy, who appeared against Crawley, has had tests on a stomach complaint which has seen him lose half-a-stone in weight.
