A woman died when her car was in collision with a van on a West Sussex country road.
The accident happened on the B2139 at Houghton yesterday afternoon.
Police say the woman, who was driving a red Peugeot, died at the scene.
The driver and two passengers in the Mercedes Benz van were taken to hospital.
One was being treated for serious leg injuries last night and the other two were released.
Police, firefighters, ambulance and the Sussex Police helicopter were all at the scene and the road was closed for four hours as police launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, a man who was killed with his dog at a notorious accident black spot has been named.
Robert Penkethman, 27, of no fixed address, had been dropped off on the A27 at Angmering when he was in collision with a car shortly before 11pm on Friday.
It is believed he had been trying to cross the four- lane road near the Woodman Arms pub at Hammerpot.
The dog was killed instantly, and Mr Penkethman was taken to Worthing Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
