A new parking permit scheme in Horsham is being launched on Monday.
The town's controlled parking zone, which is for residential roads in and around the town centre, includes pay-and-display machines and residents' permits.
Permits, for which more than 400 people have applied, cost £30 for the first year and £50 for each subsequent year.
Temporary visitor permits cost 20p for two hours.
The not-for-profit scheme is a dual project between West Sussex County Council and Horsham District Council.
A monitoring group, chaired by Brad Watson, county councillor for Southwater, has been created to look at concerns and recommend amendments where necessary.
The district council is managing the sale and administration of permits and a parking shop has been set up at the council's technical services department in Denne Parade.
County councillor Tex Pemberton said: "Revenue will fund the administration and enforcement of the scheme, which will include the three extra traffic wardens we are contracting Sussex Police to provide."
