I hear a lot of people complaining about aggressive begging and how we should clean drug addicts off our streets, yet their solutions always seem to involve moving them on and driving them out.
This attitude is the same as many people seem to have towards asylum seekers - deny them the right to be here and the problem is solved.
No one volunteers to pay more for social services, benefits, training and shelters. No one wants to address the root causes of homelessness or asylum.
They just want to lock them up or drive them out.
If people vote for any of the main parties, they are voting for more money on war, more money to the rich and a weaker social safety net.
They have only themselves to blame if the streets fill up with those who have nowhere else to go.
