On the afternoon of Saturday, July 26, I found out first hand what it must be like to come under an air attack.
Without any prior warning, the centre of Worthing was subjected to 15 minutes of low- level flying by military jet aircraft.
I didn't see the aircraft so I don't know how many were involved but it sounded as if they were flying just a few feet above my roof.
I was surprised my windows were not shattered and it frightened birds, cats and dogs, not to mention many elderly people.
Although I visit the town centre every day, I saw no posters warning of this event and I would not be surprised if people had suffered heart attacks as there are many care homes and clinics in the area.
Now I know how the people of Baghdad must have suffered. Had there been an accident over the town, the casualty list would have been horrendous.
I wonder just how much this event will be costing council tax payers.
