Ola Onabule will probably have been seen by his biggest Brighton audience at the Dome last year as part of Courtney Pine's Commonwealth extravaganza On Track.
As impressive as he was, that would have been a very small taste of what this phenomenal vocalist can do.
Though London-born, he developed his first musical endeavours during ten formative years growing up in Nigeria. His first band, the Diplomats, picked up cues from Seventies funk and soul.
Ola was has paid his dues working solidly as backing vocalist for George Michael, kd lang and others. His band have supported the likes of Al Jarreau, Tower Of Power, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole.
His "poshest" showbiz scalp has to be performing at the Beckhams' wedding.
This talented bunch are currently slogging around UK jazz clubs and odd European dates, leading to Ola's featured performance at the Royal Opera House in November. Catch him while you can.
