Albion joined the list of pre-season scalps for Third Division newcomers Yeovil at Huish Park last night.
An 88th minute goal by substitute Adam Stansfield completed a hat-trick of home wins for last seasons Conference champions following victories over Wolves and Brentford.
Steve Coppell's side had fallen behind after just 28 seconds when Kevin Gall's shot deflected in via a post and captain Danny Cullip.
Leon Knight maintained his impressive start for Albion with his second goal in as many appearances after 64 minutes.
The pint-sized striker, signed on loan from Chelsea for two months, pounced on a mistake by Yeovil keeper Christopher Weale.
Albion's starting line-up was not far removed from the one likely to face Oldham next Saturday.
Cullip returning from a thigh injury, was partnered in the centre of defence by Mayo and Pethick with Watson and Jones as wing-backs. McPhee, fresh from five goals in pre-season, joined Knight up front.
The Seagulls were caught napping at the back when they conceded virtually straight from the kick-off.
Gall, latching on to a pass from Williams, rounded Kuipers as he raced off his line.
The former Bristol Rovers forward's angled shot towards the empty net struck a post before rebounding in off the unfortunate Cullip.
Albion could have been further behind by the break but for the acrobatics of Kuipers.
The Dutchman dived to keep out a header from a corner by Yeovil's towering Portuguese centre-half Rodrigues.
Kuipers made further fine stops from Gall following his solo run and a fierce drive from a tight angle by Way.
The diminutive Knight, dwarfed by Rodrigues, looked lively again after his debut goal at Barnet.
The Chelsea front man's low centre to the near post was flicked into the side netting by McPhee in an incident-crammed opening.
McPhee lasted only just over half an hour before he was forced off because he was unwell.
He was replaced by Oatway, who took up his customary role in the centre of midfield with Hart finishing the half alongside Knight in attack.
Knight had his third different partner of the evening for the second half. Lee came on for Hart, who had been lectured by the ref on a couple of occasions in the opening 45 minutes.
Albion were saved by the woodwork twice in quick succession around the hour mark.
Gall's low drive hit a post after Gosling's pass put him clear, then a far post header from Jackson clipped the bar.
Not much had been seen of the Seagulls as an attacking force, but an error by Yeovil keeper Weale presented them with an equaliser after Butters had been introduced for Jones.
Weale failed to deal with Watson's hanging free-kick from the right flank under pressure from Cullip, leaving Knight to tuck away the loose ball.
Unfortunately for the Seagulls, it was not enough to rescue them from defeat. Former Albion midfielder Lee Johnson fed Stansfield to slot in the winner with two minutes left.
