Another action-packed night for the rookie bangers at Arlington Stadium saw few manage to finish any of the races.

Forty-nine of them started out, but by the end of the action only five were still running.

The final was an amazing race, being stopped three times, including two huge pile-ups.

The first involving at least a dozen cars was on lap five, then after ten laps came another multiple crash.

And there was a further stoppage a lap from the end as most of the remaining cars slid into the remnants of the previous crashes and caused yet another track blockage.

By this time, there had been half a dozen different race leaders, all of whom had got mixed up in the incidents.

In the end, Brighton driver Michael Webb was awarded the win as the result was taken on the last completed lap, despite his car having blown up just as the red flags came out to stop the race for the last time.

The points edge him closer to the top three in the track championship.

Leader Harvey Devall suffered major car damage in heat one and then crashed in heat two, which put him out for the rest of the night, so he failed to score at all.

Graham Poulter got second in that race but also suffered damage and could not get out again, while Simon Hassan crashed heavily in his open-ing heat and out, which was the end of the night for him as well.

It was a similar story for the leaders in the ministox title race, although Aaron Morris came back strongly for a hard-fought third place in the final.

It turned out to an inspired night for some of the lower graded drivers.

Craig Luckhurst, who started the night in 13th place with just six points, had a couple of comfortable wins, while Brighton's Vicky Brand, who had not scored a point all season, held on to take her first win in heat two.

She nearly caused another sensation in the final when she narrowly missed out on second place and had to settle for fourth in a tight finish.
