I have been criticised by two readers (Letters, August 6) for complaining about the noise caused by a recent air display over Worthing.
I am told it was mentioned on Splash FM. I listen to BBC Radio Four and Radio Five. I also watch the local news programmes on Meridian TV and BBC South.
I did not hear the event mentioned and still contend that events like this should be well advertised in the town itself.
I didn't see any posters. The loud explosions of firework displays in Worthing are also not well advertised.
I was in Brighton recently and fireworks displays there were prominently advertised at the entrance to Brighton Pier. Worthing should do the same - but Brighton is always one step ahead of Worthing.
The air show caused alarm to many elderly people as well as birds and animals.
I thought my windows were in danger of being shattered.
Actually, I have been in real air raids but I could have done without this reminder of what they were like.
