Hospital food has traditionally given bed-ridden patients a reason to get back on their feet and get home.
But now the food on offer in the wards at hospitals run by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust has been voted top-nosh by government inspectors.
Celebrity food critic and chef and NHS food advisor Loyd Grossman has helped develop new menus to tantalise the taste-buds of even the most hospital-fearing people.
A bigger choice for patients and changes in the way food is distributed have been given the top-ranking green light.
As well as making their stay in hospital more comfortable, medical experts believe healthy, wholesome meals do genuinely aid recovery.
But with tastier treats on the menu, some people might prefer to stop on the ward than slave over a hot stove at home.
