Police have released an E-fit picture of the man they are hunting in connection with a sex attack on a girl of 13.
Detectives have urged anyone who recognises the man to come forward.
The victim and a boy of 15 were sat chatting in Carden Park, Hollingbury, Brighton, at 8pm last Thursday when the man came up to them and asked if they had seen his missing dog.
He made what police said was a derogatory remark to the boy about the girl and then indecently assaulted her.
He ran towards his car at the junction of Carden Hill and Carden Avenue, chased by a girlfriend of the victim.
He had problems starting his F-registered dark-coloured car but eventually drove off along Carden Hill.
The offender is white, 35, tanned, about 5ft 9in, chubby, with a gruff voice. He was bare-chested and was wearing shorts and blue, knee-high socks. He also had a pierced ear.
Detective Constable Renate Harris said: "All three friends were shocked and upset."
Anyone with information should call Mr Harris on 0845 6070999.
