A man accused of strangling his wife in her home has appeared in court.
Nicholas Bailey, 58, was remanded in custody to appear at a preliminary hearing at Lewes Crown Court on September 3.
Bailey, of Gilbert Road, Eastbourne, is accused of murdering Susan Bailey at Channel View Road, Eastbourne, between August 15 and 17.
No bail application was made during the seven-minute hearing at Eastbourne Magistrates Court yesterday. Bailey spoke only to confirm his name.
