With regard to the Karis/Ing proposed development for the King Alfred site, I have been doing some research and found the council should have an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
An EIS covers management of a building and the occupant organisation, health and comfort, energy, transport, water consumption, materials, land use, site ecology and pollution.
The transparency of the EIA "must be guaranteed by informing and providing the public with access to information and means to take part and to express their opinion during the procedure".
