A college student is raising £3,200 to go on an expedition to Chile.
Ashley Wheeler, who is studying biology, geography and English literature A-levels at Worthing College, plans to go on the Raleigh International adventure on October 2.
The expedition, which lasts until December 17, involves environmental research projects and working in isolated farming communities.
Ashley will study glaciers, the flora and fauna in remote regions of the Laguna San Rafael National Park and the huemel, an endangered species of deer.
In a bid to raise cash, Ashley has compiled a vegetable cook book containing more than 80 recipes that is on sale for £4.50.
Worthing College and Westergate Community School, Westergate, near Barnham, have printed 100 copies each, for free, and bound them together with a plastic cover.
