The annual Findon Sheep Fair is to make a return after the foot-and-mouth crisis.
The fair normally involves a huge auction of sheep and a host of other attractions, including a traditional fair ground, craft and produce stalls, pony rides, Punch and Judy, Morris dancers and a dog show.
The foot-and-mouth outbreak three years ago meant the fair has been called off since then but festivities are now all set to go-ahead on September 12, although restrictions on moving animals will mean there will be no auction.
The event, at Nepcote Green, Findon, is organised by volunteers from Findon village and aided by the Findon Parish Council.
Attractions include:
Friday, September 12. 6.30 pm: Robert Harris's Traditional Fairground; 7.30pm: Barn dance with music by Foreman Five and a hog roast.
Saturday, September 13. 10.30am: Fairground and craft and produce stalls; 12.15pm, 2.30pm and 3.45pm: Punch and Judy; 11.30am and 1.45pm: Morris dancers; 10.45am and 1pm: Celebration Samba; 1pm: Dog show, awards for pedigree and non-pedigree dogs, junior handling and obedience; 3pm: Demonstration by Findon Downs Dog Training Club; 7.30pm: All-ages dance, with music by Fred and the Ferrets and a hog roast.
Sunday, September 14. 3pm: Songs of praise, Salvation Army Band in conjunction with St John the Baptist Church, Findon.
A licensed bar and refreshments will be available on both days.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday events are available from the butcher's shop and newsagent's in Findon Village - adults £4, children 13 years or less £1.50.
