Arun's leading councillor has been appointed to a regional decision-making body.
Arun District Council leader Norman Dingemans has been appointed to the South East England Regional Assembly (Seera) executive committee.
The body, which covers all of the South-East, has responsibility for developing regional transport strategies and planning guidance.
It also works with the South East England Development Agency (Seeda) on regional economic strategy.
Mr Dingemans said: "I am delighted to have been appointed to the executive committee of Seera, where I will be working with others to forward not only the best interests of the Arun district but also the South-East region as a whole."
