Councillor Bob Carden said in The Argus on August 15, about a planning application for Carlyle Street, "we desperately need new housing but not if it leads to overcrowding and is at the expense of the existing community".
He didn't apply this theory to the development off Crescent Drive South, Woodingdean, in March last year when he was also chairing the meeting which approved that appalling application.
Residents in Frimley Close and Shipley Road now have to live with the council's shortcomings.
I only hope the residents of Westdene remind him of this statement at the appropriate time.
-Colin Orchard, Woodingdean
