I was very interested in the glimmer of hope for the Patcham Court Farm site (The Argus, August 26).

About three years ago, the then Trinity Care Homes, which established The Downs Christian Nursing Home in Hangleton, was interested in the property with a view to building a nursing home.

But lack of funds prevented this.

However, I wonder if a housing association like CDHA in co-operation with the local council and social services would consider a project similar to Marlborough House, built on the site of an old derelict hotel in Warrior Square, St Leonards-on-Sea?

It comprises self-contained flats, a restaurant, common room, laundry room, library and computer room, together with administrative offices all under one roof.

There is also a doctor's surgery and pharmacist under the same roof. It is an ideal home for the elderly.

If there was such a development at Patcham Court Farm it should be acceptable to local people, and would not generate too much traffic as it is near a bus route with shops not too far away.
