Shepherd Neame League: Hastings Priory insist they still have plenty of work to do if they are to retain the county title.

Thirteen points from two games is the maximum requirement for Priory to clinch the crown, even if Horsham take full points from the final fortnight.

Horsham skipper Scott Stratton has already congratulated Priory on winning the league but Hastings' Andy Cornford is not counting his chickens.

He said: "It's not over yet.

"We hope to finish it off this weekend at home to Brighton but they are a good side with good young players.

"We are expecting it to be tough and we expect Horsham to push us to the end."

Hastings are without Richard Jackson, who has a back injury, and Nick Wilton, who is working with the Sussex youth section.

George Campbell, however, will play, despite returning to work as a cricket teacher in Switzerland this week. He is flying back for the match.

Mike Yardy is also expected to play after returning from Sussex's trip north.

Despite Cornford's caution, Stratton said: "As far as I am concerned the league has gone now."

The second division crown is still up for grabs as top two, St James's Montefiore and Lewes, meet on the final day.

Both sides have clinched their promotion places and Lewes have a four-point lead in the battle for the title.

Their skipper Mike Harrison said: "We missed out on the title when we went up two years ago so we want to make up for that this time."

Eastbourne can just about kill off any relegation fears if they win at Steyning in the top flight.

Otherwise it could go to the final day as Worthing, who host Three Bridges tomorrow, bid to clamber out of the bottom two for the first time in months.
