As I write this on Friday morning the central Brighton street where I live is strewn with rubbish.
People put their bins out last Monday for collection which, because of the bank holiday, did not happen.
So, still days away from collection, it resembles a landfill site with a few houses in it.
I can only apologise to everyone else in Brighton who has to walk through this hell - the refuse gangs who will have to clean it up, the visitors who will think what a bunch of ignorant, filthy pigs we all are and the local traders whose business is bound to be effected.
I would say about half the local residents were either too stupid or simply did not care enough to take their rubbish back indoors, away from the weather and the seagulls.
But please don't tar us all with the same brush. Some of us were brought up with manners, respect for where we live and basic knowledge of health hazards.
I would like to see every one of these morons prosecuted and given community service orders to pick up litter.
These last few days have been as depressing as they have been disgusting.
