However close and dedicated we may be to our loved ones, when they pass away regrets are inevitable.
One member of my family regretted not telling his dad how much he loved him, another not phoning her grandad and another not taking him on a trip he would have loved.
It is human nature to recall the things we did and did not say or do.
I remember clearly my nephew at his nan's funeral saying: "I never thought my nan would die."
I was too preoccupied and too busy to kiss her goodbye on a Friday. She died the following Tuesday.
There's a lesson to be learned. Don't ever take people for granted. As sure as they can be here today, they can be gone tomorrow.
