Horsham took four precious points from as many gruelling matches at Harlow in the first session of the British League premier division.
Led by Adrian Moore and captained by Andy Walker, Horsham beat Dulwich 5-3, Blackpool 5-3, lost 5-3 to Sheffield and 8-0 to London Progress.
New signing Stephen Beerling, the former Kent junior champion, top scored for Horsham. He who his six remaining games afterlosing his first against London Progress.
The pick of Beerling's victories was over the England No. 32 Abdul Wuraola, from Surrey, a frequent quarter-finalist in Grand Prix tournaments.
Captain Walker said: "We are pleased to get four points but we should have beaten the Yorkshire team."
Walker helped clinch victory against Blackpool. After Beerling had defeated star England junior Greg Baker and veteran John Rankin, Moore also brought down Bake. Peter Bartram and Walker also defeated former Horsham player Ian Girdler.
The second session of matches are at Newark, Nottingham in November.
