I went to the market in George Street, Hove. It was a lovely Saturday morning, the sun was shining and the street was bright and colourful with the market stalls all set up and lots of shoppers enjoying the ambience.
A great experience I thought. And then I thought a bit more. Why was this billed a French Market? There did not seem to be that much that was typically French.
I am totally convinced that we (the Brits) could have produced just as good a display from local Sussex producers and growers.
Come on, Hove (and Brighton), give the locals a chance, let's have a market for local residents to buy from local producers.
