Hastings were on the receiving end of a hammering at Bashley, though the game was not as one-sided as the scoreline would suggest.
It took just nine minutes for Bashley to open the scoring.
A cross from the right found Danny Gibbons unmarked to plant his header past Matt Brown in the visitors goal.
Ryan Peters came close to equalising midway through the half with a long range effort that keeper David Elms did well to push over.
Bashley increased their lead on 31 minutes with a quickly taken free kick that ended with Dave Wakefield drilling home a low shot from outside the area.
Gibbons added a third with another free header shortly before the break.
The second half saw Hastings with plenty of possession but Mark Lovell's chip from 30 yards was pushed over by Elms before the home side increased their lead when Richard Gillespie broke from halfway and finished well.
Gillespie also hit the fifth.
