Eastbourne rider Nicki Pedersen finished third in the final of Saturday's Czech Republic Grand Prix in Prague.
The meet was won by Jason Crump with Tony Rickardsson second and Rune Holta fourth.
It means the Eagles rider is now second in the race for the world title with seven rounds gone and two more to go, in Poland on September 20 and Norway on October 4.
Rickardsson leads with 115 points from Pedersen on 114 and Crump on 113, and they are followed by Leigh Adams, who has 107.
For the second week running, Mark Loram went out cheaply after only three rides in Prague.
