Police are urging residents to think about safety and lock doors and windows following a spate of burglaries.
In the last two weeks of August there were 14 house burglaries in Lancing when offenders entered via insecure doors or windows and helped themselves to cash, purses and pension books.
An Adur police spokesman said: "People often forget to close windows and doors and make them secure in the warm weather and so tempt thieves and burglars."
Anyone with information that might help police should call 0845 6070999 and ask for CID at Shoreham, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
