Loan striker Darius Henderson does not know where he stands after Alan Pardew resigned as boss of his parent club Reading.
Henderson launched his second month with the Seagulls by scoring a penalty in last Saturday's 2-2 home draw against Swindon.
Now Pardew's departure from the Madejski Stadium has caused uncertainty over the young Yorkshireman's situation.
Henderson said: "I am very much in the dark. If someone else comes in at Reading he might want to have a look at all of his players and see what he has got to work with, so I am not too sure what is going to happen.
"I would like to stay for the second month, but my main concern is sorting out my future.
"My contract is up at the end of the year and now I have no offer on the table. Alan Pardew wanted me to sort out a new deal, but his current situation takes that option off me at the moment."
Henderson's plight is further complicated by an injury worry.
Albion boss Steve Coppell revealed: "Darius has got a long-standing groin problem which is a concern.
"We have discussed the situation with Reading and they are quite happy for him to stay with us."
