The marathon efforts of six men and five women raised more than £9,000 for a Sussex charity.
The team running this year's London Marathon on behalf of Sussex Beacon were committed to raising at least £500 each by completing the 26.2 miles of the course.
They far exceeded their targets, however, with everyone completing the event and raising a final total of £9,052.
Julie Hales, community fund-raiser for Sussex Beacon said: "Their achievements must be applauded and sincere thanks go to the runners and their generous sponsors."
All the funds raised go directly to help the charity continue providing specialist support and care for men and women living with HIV and AIDS.
The marathon team comprised Linda Angus, Sandy Brink-Smith, Lin Freed, Brigitte Groves, Paul Jarrold, Lee Knight, Andi Knight, Vic Salas, Eric Whiffin, Mike Williams and Liz Woolford - all from Brighton and Hove.
The charity is now looking for runners for the 2004 marathon, on April 18. Contact Julie Hales on 01273 694222 or email julie.hales@sussexbeacon.org.uk
