Environmentalists began their autumn season with practical work to improve the environment.
Members of Worthing Conservation Volunteers said their work at The Gallups in Findon Valley had been appreciated by members of the public and wildlife alike.
Their next task is to clean up Worthing beach, in conjunction with the Worthing Environmental Forum.
It is part of the Adopt A Beach scheme, organised by the Marine Conservation Society.
Last September, 229 beaches nationwide were surveyed and more than 15,000kg of rubbish collected.
A Worthing conservation spokeswoman said: "Most of the detritus was plastic and would have remained in the sea or on the shore for years to come.
"The whole ecosystem can suffer as a result. Species such as dolphins and seals, as well as seabirds and fish, have been known to swallow or get tangled in marine debris."
If you would like to help, come along to the Sea Lane Cafe, Goring, at 2pm on Sunday.
