A man aged 101 supported a children's hospice by donating boxes of toys.
Pensioner Jack Preston visited Chestnut Tree House in Angmering to hand over gifts to the young patients with members of his family.
Mr Preston had seen TV announcements about the new hospice and, thinking how scarce toys were when he was a child, decided to ask his family to donate toys and games instead of spending money on his birthday.
The 150 toys were taken to the hospice by Mr Preston, his daughter Ruth, son Frank and grand-daughter Dawn, and handed over during a tour of the building.
Mr Preston, from Cowfold, near Henfield, has a huge family, including seven children and 58 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, ranging from six months to 60 years old.
A hospice spokeswoman said: "Thanks to the generosity of people like Jack, Chestnut Tree House is now awash with good quality toys and games so we probably don't need any more.
"If you would like to make a donation, phone the fund-raising department on 01903 265824 to find out how you can support us."
