A 15-year-old hurt her foot when a car driven by a pensioner crashed into her and then drove off.
The youngster was taken to the Eastbourne District General Hospital for treatment to a damaged ligament in her right foot following the smash in Compton Place Road, Eastbourne.
A red hatchback driven by an elderly woman careered into her at the junction with Meads Road.
The pensioner, who had an elderly woman in the passenger seat, drove off while the girl writhed in tears on the ground.
Police today appealed for witnesses to the hit-and-run, which happened at 4.25pm on Friday, to call Eastbourne police on 0845 6070999.
