Workers facing an appraisal by their bosses were advised today to stay calm after a new survey showed some staff lose their temper when criticised.
The poll of 1,500 office staff reveals two out of three say something they later regret during an appraisal.
The top errors include blaming colleagues' incompetence, responding with "I'm only human", when criticised, saying they are bored and losing their temper.
Paul Jacobs, managing director of Office Angels, which conducted the research, said: "Appraisals should provide the spotlight for open and honest discussion and constructive feedback.
"However, those being reviewed need to spend time thinking about how they can use this opportunity to take them close to their goals."
