Arundel went fifth in County League division one after an impressive win at Ringmer.
Daniel Kentch marked his first full 90 minutes for the Mullets with an 89th-minute winner although manager Steve Johnson insists his side should have wrapped up victory long before then.
Johnson said: "If it had been 6-1 it would have been about right. I know a lot of the Ringmer players and they were saying afterwards that we murdered them.
"We can do that to anyone on our day and the players are beginning to believe we are not a bad side."
Miles Scerri had earlier netted his 11th goal of the season to cancel out Matt Beeston's opener for Ringmer.
