I want to thank a couple of youngsters who were very kind to me on Saturday morning.
When news is understandably full of disasters, rape and murder, it is refreshing to be able to highlight the caring feeling shown by this pair in their late teens or early twenties.
I am in the vintage class and had to deliver a small packet to the hospital.
I parked my car in Sudeley Terrace, Brighton, and while walking to the hospital, unexpectedly threw up and found myself shaking.
A young lady dashed across the road and asked if there was anything she could do and where was I going.
I told her I was on the way to the Royal Sussex County Hospital. "You wait here, I'll get someone to go with you," she replied.
In a minute or so she brought a young man to help walk me to the hospital.
I delivered my parcel but the receptionist and a nurse were concerned about me and insisted I sat down for a while until the tremors had subsided a little.
I sat for maybe 15 minutes and all this time the young man stayed with me and then helped me back to my car.
This little episode has highlighted the fact that a great many, probably the substantial majority, of our youngsters have the right instincts.
I would like to thank these two youngsters publicly for their concern and assistance.
Thank you both, your help was much appreciated.
