City centre parking changes brought in as an experiment earlier this year are likely to be made permanent.
Brighton and Hove City Council changed some of the free two and four-hour parking places to resident permit spaces around Dyke Road.
Waiting lists for permits in these areas are long. It can take up to ten months to obtain one.
But the environment committee, which is meeting next Thursday, will consider objections to the proposals from the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Dyke Road where spaces for visitors have been reduced.
Transport councillor Simon Battle said: "This is a high-pressure parking area but through these changes, we have created more than 200 extra places for residents.
"The hospital is in the middle of these zones so visitors can take advantage of 375 free parking places.
"More than 100 are two minutes' walk from the hospital and most are no more than five minutes' walk away."
A further 120 parking bays have been kept for voucher, disabled and motorcycle parking.
