Brighton Pavilion's Tory vicepresident, David Gold, would like us to believe that his leader's "Betsygate" is just "internal feuding and squabbling".

Get real, David, your little scandal reaches far beyond mere party politics.

People do not call the chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee (John Scarlett) "a little shit" and the Prime Minister (Tony Blair) "a liar" and hope to get away with it lightly - not even the leader of the Conservative Party.

Telling the truth is far too subversive for secret, malevolent "pillars of the Establishment" which are likely to crumble with exposure. Go for it, Iain.
