The gap between men's and women's pay closed slightly in the past year, figures revealed today.
Women's average hourly pay was 82 per cent of men's in the year to April, compared with 81 per cent in the previous 12 months.
Hourly pay increased by 3.5 per cent among women and 1.1 per cent for men, according to data from the Office for National Statistics.
