BBC Southern Counties Radio today opened a 24-hour audition line for people who think they have got what it takes to present the Breakfast Live morning show.

Would-be presenters are being asked to dial the number and speak for a minute.

The line closes on October 25 and two finalists will be chosen for face-to-face interviews by BBC bosses.

JoAnne Good, 47, the former Crossroads actress, presented her last weekday breakfast show this morning before moving to BBC London 94.9 FM.

Mark Carter, programme editor, said: "We want people with broadcasting experience and people who think they have got what it takes.

"It could be anyone from an experienced broadcaster to someone who is a complete novice."

To audition, ring 01273 320430.

Next week the breakfast show will be presented by a different celebrity each day, including comic Mark Little and newscaster Carol Barnes.
