As the woman most of Sussex has woken up with at some time during the last six years, you could say she had a head start.
But when the public were asked whose name they would most like to see added to Brighton's Walk of Fame at Brighton Marina, the runaway favourite was former BBC Southern Counties breakfast show presenter JoAnne Good.
The former Crossroads actress learned of the honour just days after swapping her Brighton hot seat for a new job at a London radio station.
A tearful JoAnne told The Argus: "This is incredibly emotional for me, as the whole week has been. I've been crying for about three days.
"I would like to think it's recognition for our radio programme because it's certainly not for a few episodes in a fourth-rate soap opera.
"But it's the people out there who make the programme. People out on the streets of Brighton and Hove, telling me what they think. It's just a bunch of maniacs led by the biggest maniac of all - me.
"I just started my new job last night but I kept wanting to talk about Brighton. It's the most extraordinary city."
JoAnne is one of four stars whose names will now be immortalised in the distinctive green stones running the length of the waterfront development.
Joining her is Brighton-based actor Brian Capron, whose performance as crazed serial killer Richard Hillman propelled Coronation Street to the top of the TV ratings, winning public acclaim and a raft of awards for both him and the soap.
Delighted Capron, who is also a successful businessman, told The Argus: "A few people have walked over me a few times in my career but this time it will be a treat.
"It has rounded off a fantastic two years for me and a big thank you to all the people who voted for me."
He will be joined by the king of camp, comedian Julian Clary, who has also made his home in Brighton.
The master of the ad lib is one of the UK's best loved comics, finding fame as the Joan Collins Fan Club before going on to host a string of TV shows.
He said: "I'm thrilled to the marrow to be immortalised in this way. I only hope no drunken Brighton youth vomits on my plaque.
"But I am genuinely very pleased as this is voted by the public who I've always known to be people of very good taste."
The fourth star to be inducted into the Walk of Fame this Christmas is popular actress Julie Graham, who also lives in Brighton.
She found fame with starring roles in popular ITV1 dramas William And Mary and At Home With The Braithwaites.
The public were asked to select four stars from the ten shortlisted to be added to the 100 names already carved in stone at Brighton's newest tourist attraction.
On the shortlist were luminaries of stage, screen and literature, including Keith Waterhouse, Greta Scacchi, Kate O'Mara and Oscar-nominated screenwriter William Nicholson.
Of the total votes received, JoAnne Good received 40 per cent, Brian Capron 17 per cent, Julian Clary 14 per cent and Julie Graham seven per cent.
Walk of Fame founder Brighton businessman David Courtney said: "The public have chosen a great selection although everyone put forward was very worthy."
Joining the stars at the Walk of Fame Christmas party on December 7 will be Pat Potliphar, of The Drive, Hove, who has won two tickets to the bash and a room at the Hotel Seattle.
Our second prize, one night at the Hotel Seattle, was won by J Earl, of Albion Street, Portslade.
