Well, what a stunning few days it has been for the organised religions.
First, the Catholic establishment says the HIV virus can pass through a condom.
Then we get a statement from some high-ranking clergyman in the Philippines that, as one eight-year-old rape victim was able to carry a child to birth, rape victims should not be permitted abortions.
Then the Anglicans are hellbent on destroying the unity of their church by letting homophobic luddites discriminate against the ordination of a man on grounds of his sexuality.
It seems an awful shame that none of them appears to have read the teachings of a bloke called Jesus, who called for unity and love.
He also endorsed his father's teaching "Thou shalt not kill" but of course our glorious leader knows this really means: Thou shalt not kill unless those you're killing have oil your new best friend wants.
Perhaps it is time for a new crusade, led by those of rational disposition, to destroy these sources of death and conflict.
