Not many people would take a bet made at a drunken dinner party as seriously as Tony Hawks.

But the multi-talented comedian and author was so determined to win a wager to score a Top 20 hit anywhere in the world, he travelled to the United States, Africa, Holland, Romania and Albania.

His show (and book) One Hit Wonderland relates his various, somewhat mad, efforts to come up with a hit single within two years.

In a smooth, comfortable performance, with hardly a swear word, Tony quickly won over his audience with his friendly humour which hit the spot with the aid of film clips, slides, a guitar, a selection of headgear and even a costume change.

What we assume eventually turned out to be his winning formula involved Sir Norman Wisdom, Sir Tim Rice, a toy saxophone and a surreal performance at Albania's national football stadium of the song Big In Albania.

He did not go as far as revealing whether Big in Albania actually managed a Top 20 slot.

For that, apparently, you have to buy the book.
