What astute businessmen Daniel Nathan and Eugene Pereira must be.
Having persuaded the late Radio Authority that what Brighton needed was a station aimed at the kiddies, they were granted the licence in the face of some stiff competition.
In December 2000 they were successful in selling to Forever Broadcasting for more than £4 million.
As reported in The Argus (October 2), they have now managed to buy back the ailing station for not much more than a tenth of what they sold it for.
Mr Nathan enthused: "We passionately believe the City's only dedicated radio station should live and breathe Brighton."
Fine words but does he mean we shall now see a departure from the cacophony of so-called dance music presented by incoherent presenters and gabbled news read over a bed of noise so it becomes unintelligible?
How can he possibly attract advertisers with such a formula? Brightonians are entitled to a station which involves the whole community.
Perhaps now we can look forward to some grown up radio.
