Bognor ended a run of six games without a win with a home victory over Heybridge Swifts.
They got off to a great start after just five minutes when David Birmingham fired into the far corner of the net from the angle of the box.
Richard Hudson should have increased the lead within a minute but headed over the bar while Rob Collins saw his long-range effort bounce wide before he steered another effort wide of the upright.
Those misses could have been costly when Swifts' John Pollard rattled a header from a corner against the crossbar in the second half.
But Collins made it 2-0 with nine minutes left when he blasted home from an acute angle, having shrugged off his marker inside the box.
Bognor boss Jack Pearce said: "The result was more important than the performance."
