There is no more reason why Ivor Caplin should apologise for his article in The Argus earlier this year than Steve George should apologise for his letter.
Condemning the war against Saddam Hussein as "illegal" is becoming increasingly irritating (what, then, is a "legal" war?).
Whether there were weapons of mass destruction or not, Saddam had been exalting himself far too long and his humbling did not come a moment too soon.
If we and the Americans had not got rid of him, no one else would and he would still be killing his opponents in unspeakable ways.
